I own an Asus X83V laptop. The computer itself runs like a dream, never had overheating troubles, handles all my gaming needs and has only ever had one problem.
    Fingerprints!
The bloody thing has a gloss finish that I didn't think about when I bought it. Cleaning it seems to be a futile process, so I've been looking for alternate solutions. One of the first things I thought of was some sort of skin for it, but cannot find one. Does anyone have any ideas or ways they solved a problem with a high gloss finish?

    i hear ya
two things on that laptop drove me nuts
    - fingerprints (ESPECIALLY on the palm rests!)
    - touchpad

since then, i've vowed to stay away from any laptop that has plastic casing and a glossy finish. though i was temporarily tempted by the UL80VT, reading the reviews (fingerprint magnet, cheap plastic) reminded me why i don't want it :p shame... because otherwise it had EVERYTHING else i was looking for in a secondary/travel laptop

one option i did consider though, if you've got a local motorcycle shop that sells graphics kits for dirtbikes, i was thinking about using a flat black or clear vinyl sheet and cut it to fit. one industries makes them i believe.
