I took out the screen for my laptop and hooked up this monitor.
AOC 21.5" IPS LED HD Monitor I2269VW - Best Buy
When i installed it, it worked full 1080 and was ok.
Then i restarted and it displayed 1/2 screens in the display options all of sudden and wont display any other option other then 1020/768. Both the laptop and monitor are 1080 and worked fine when i plugged it in.
The laptop no longer has a screen since it broke i also unplugged the inverter cable. It worked fine until a restart.

How do i get back to the way it was when i first plugged it in?

I got it back to normal! Thanks!

    Only one thing left
The display options in the windows 8.1 display options show 2 monitors. I have it st to make the primary diplay my main display and only to show desktop on display 2.
How do i delete the other display?

I don't think you can and you wouldn't want to. If it keeps working the way it is now, perhaps it's ok. Do you want to have two outboard displays? Not sure if you can but if the laptop has a vga and hdmi output perhaps it's possible if the laptop display is not active. My N56JR has vga and hdmi and I was wondering if I can have two outboard displays. Maybe somebody else knows.
