Here is a little background, I was planning on getting a gateway 7811 as a temporary laptop that i would be giving to my girlfriend once i was able to pick up a sager for game design/gaming. Ended up her thinking the 17inc was too big and had to compromise for a asus x83v. p8400 2.26ghz dual core, 4gig ram, 9600m gs 1gig. Now, the laptop is nice, I have been playing eq2 on it a bit the last few days but i really hate the screen, it has a maximum of 1200x800 resolution which is making me want to squeeze a puppy.

I am fairly confident that I can upgrade the screen myself if I were able to find an lcd that will fit. If anyone here can direct me to somewhere i can purchase an upgraded LCD screen i'd be forever grateful, I am hoping to get a screen with at least 1680x1050 Wuxga(right?). I am a bit worried that with the small srcreen size that resolution might be overkill.

On another note, I am thinking about buying a Panasonic UJ-220 so I can burn blu ray and also connect it to the hi-def big screen we have in he house via hdmi to watch some movies, Anyone knowif the UJ-220 will fit into this laptop and not look akward?

Thanks in advance for any help ya guy can hook a bro up with

giving this a little bumpity bump, i was looking around online and it seems that the only screens available at 14.1" are 1200x800. If anyone has some info i'd greatly appreciate it.
