The FX-60 is still considered a high-end CPU, its still performs well against the desktop Core 2 Duo's up to E6700.
It still dominated pretty much all of the mobile CPU's.
However, I would not recommend the D900K, not because its a bad notebook... rather its getting outdated (Socket 939, DDR1, old modular videocard design) and about to be phased out for the next Gen Clevo DTRs... like the Clevo D900C.
I would strongly recommend to either get the D900C or wait for the upcoming M570RU, which are newly designed and the technology would be able to have a better future in upgrades.
And can you say... Quad-cores for the new Clevo DTR's....both Intel and AMD -
yea i like the D900C.. but a barebone starts at around 2000.. wow.. and alienware's version of them start at i think 3000.. if i do get the d900k then i would put it 2 gbs ram, the fx-60, the go 7950GTX, and a few other things, but that is a pretty powerful combo,, anyone disagree.. i mean considering that my budget is $2000.. any other options??

if your budget is around $2000, I would recommend also to look at:
- Clevo M570U (a.k.a. Sager 5760) fully loaded for around $2000
--- read Clevo Guide for resellers.
- Dell e1705 (aka. Inspiron 9400) w/ 7900GS
- Gateway NX860XL w/ 7900GS
Of course the 7900GS is not real match for the 7950GTX's, but they are still bang for the buck with a budget under $2000 -
yea i actually looked at the D900C and i am leaning more towards it because of the 4 GB of ram possibility and the sli possiblity and the higher ram speed.. haha i could keep going, but i would have to stretch my budget.. maybe sell my 360??(who needs it) haha.. im gonna see if i can stretch my budget.. but i what are some other specs on the D900C?? thanks!!

and at pretty much most of the Clevo resellers in the Clevo Guide
Highlights:
- desktop Core 2 Duo/Xtreme (expect for Quad-core compatibility announcement anytime now)
- up to 4gigs DDR2
- 3 internal HDD's (optional RAID 0,1,5) ... can actually go up to 600GB at the moment, and 750GB when 250gb drives become available
- up to dual videocards (SLI-mode) ... initially shipping with 7950GTX's (ready for high-end DX10 when available this summer)
- standard optical drive bay (ready for Blu-ray and HD-DVD)
