Hello i was wondering if anyone knows where to find true vista drivers for my ati radeon 9600 card. Windows comes preinstalled with some drivers for it but they never work they always have a yellow ! next to them so i have force installed xp drivers but they dont allow me to run aero. Thanks.

Download the latest drivers from ATI and use the mobility modder on them.

Any of the latest drivers + mobility modder will work. I have an Athlon X2 based desktop with an old Powercolor 9700 Pro and it runs Vista (aero and all) absolutely fine with Catalyst 8.6. This card amazingly plays the latest round of Valve games on decent settings, although since it is a DirectX 9.0b card you won't have HDR and some of the higher graphics options are non-existant.

are you sure your computer doesn't have a ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 IGP? well it doesnt really matter because the same procedure should still work.

just go through the steps on the page one by one. don't forget to install msxml 6.0 and also, check the box to disable UAC(don't bother restarting after this step). also when you browse for the driver folder put in C:\ATI\SUPPORT\8-7_vista32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_65998

I am 100% positive i have a 9600 iv seen the physical chip before when i replaced the motherboard. As to the other part i follow the directions step by step and when i go to install the ati drivers it says its installing all this stuff then when it says to restart i restart and nothing happens im using the same drivers i dont even have the CCC installed.
