I lost the AC adapter for my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra. On the back by the plug it says 5v 2A. I just need to get a generic adapter that fits the plug, is 5v output and puts out 2A or higher right?

I just have a hard time remembering electrical stuff. Don't want to set anything on fire.

That's a good caveat to have. Mixing and matching the wrong electrical components can yield some very undesirable results. Because of this, it is something that should be better advertised when replacing electrical components.

Yes, a 5v 2a adapter will work...only problem is getting a plug that fits. However, I do believe that plug size is generally the same across specific voltage and amperage ratings...so a generic 5v 2a adapter should work no problem.

Also, have you tried contacting M-Audios' customer/support line and ask them about a OEM replacement?
