AverMedia Capture Card in Aorus X5

Considering buying the Aorus X5 laptop; however, I'd like to know a little more about how the integrated AverMedia capture card works.

Is this capture card useful at all for non-gaming video encoding tasks? Also, not entirely clear but it appears to use PCI-e connection. Does this mean the PCI-e M.2 slots would not be free for use with PCI-e x4 SSD, such as Mushkin Hyperion?

Why get an Aorus X5 over a laptop with a single 980M? SLI of midrange GPUs...been there, done that. Not a great experience by any stretch. Hope you know what you're getting into.

As for using the Avermedia as a non-gaming hardware encoder, QuickSync and NVENC are probably more useful, not to mention free with any Optimus notebook nowadays.
