Hello
I have Sleekbook 6 1126ea
I had 4gb of RAM and decided to upgrade to 8GB.
I purchased from Crucial.com
this 4x2gb kit
8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-12800 upgrades for HP - Compaq ENVY Sleekbook 6-1126ea Laptop/Notebook, CT3908286 from Crucial.com
Installing was easy and both rams fitted perfectly.
(the factory RAM I keep in my desk just in case)
What I did:
1.I ran a MEMORY TEST (extensive) for 1.30hours and everything checked out OK.
2BIOS recognises the RAMs (set the BIOS to default settings just in case)
3.HP assistant recognises two RAMs working on 667mhz
But after an 4 hour runing like a dream. I got a Blue screen while watching Youtube video.
This is what win8 gave me as error report:

Can someone tell me if my new RAM is bad???

Run memtest86+, it's the most reliable RAM testing program.
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool -

First things first:
We can't tell you if your RAM is bad - but try the following to find out for yourself.
1.3 Hrs is not a memory test.
Did you remove the battery before you installed the Sodimms? Did you ground yourself before installing them?
First (with all new components) you need to do a proper test on the RAM as this is the last thing you've changed on the system.
Boot up the computer with MemTest and let it run at least overnight (8+ Hrs. I usually leave my new Sodimms in 'test mode' for 24 Hrs to 3 Days (depending how stabile I need the system to be).
If it passes that test, then we know the hardware is good.
Boot up the computer in Safe mode and make sure it doesn't sleep/turn off (again as long as you can - overnight is 'just right').
If it passes that test, then we know that Windows is stable (on it's own)
Now, boot the computer normally - type msconfig (and make sure to run as administrator) and select Selective Startup and uncheck startup items - reboot and see if the sytem is stabile. If it is okay - enable each startup item individually until you discover the program that is crashing your computer.
If disabling the startup items didn't solve the issue: uncheck load system services and then test those, in turn, if needed.
Good luck. -
I did NOT remove the battery while installing the RAM. The Sleekbook does not have a removable battery (its like a Mac-inside the chassis) However it was unplugged from the charger.
Grounded? I put the laptop on a wooden table, in a room that has literally no electrical equipment besides the laptop. If that is what you mean
can any of you decipher the Windows error log for "unexpected shut-down" that I provided?
and is it normal that my RAM runs on lower voltage than the manufacture stated? (the picture that I provided- from CPU-z)
BSOD on my Sleekbook 6 (suspecting new RAM upgrade)
