    Backlight Replacement

    Hi NBRers,

    Could someone kindly advise me what sort of backlight I need to replace the broken one in my Clevo M571RU please and how complicated it is or not to do.

    If it's the inverter, it is quite easy to replace. Remove the rubber protection on the screen assembly bezel to revel the screws. Remove the screws, and then gently remove the bezel from the assemble.

    The inverter should have a sticker with the part number. below are a few example on how you take the screen assembly apart:

    The above is for the inverter. If the light bulb needs replacement you can follow the guide in the link below. Note that the procedure is difficult. I tried it twice and I failed. The problem is that it requires a dust free work space, otherwise you might end up with dust marks inside the screen.

    Sounds like the inverter, hope it is anyway. I'll discover that part number over the weekend and try and acquire one.
