So I bought a 19" Viewsonic monitor, I bought it maybe 2 weeks ago, maybe three. My laptop only came about 2 days ago. So for the first 2 days the monitor worked fine, i plugged in the cable and it switched to the external display. Then one day, playing Medival 2 TW, it (the external) shut off. It's been making a humming, beeping noise. I'm pretty sure the noise is coming from the monitor and not an error beep from the laptop.

Anyone got any advice? And do you think I could return it to Office Depot, even with the UPC barcode ripped off (I ripped it off for the rebate but I haven't turned it in yet).

    Thanks

Update, ok I plugged the monitor in, same VGA cable and all, to my brother's computer and it worked fine. So I guess it's the laptop. But now I am absolutly sure that the high pitched hum is coming from the monitor.
