    Basic Question on RAM

    Just have a quick question:

    What's the difference between DDR SDRAM 2 Dimms and Shared DDR2 SDRAM 1 Dimm? Would it be worth the upgrade? I'm not really a gamer, but I use presentation-type software heavily.

    I don't think you're asking the question quite right. Are you configuring a notebook and trying to determine how much RAM and or type of video card you need?

    'shared' means you don't have a dedicated video card so the integrated video card shares memory with the system.

    fill out the 'what should i buy' sticky for better answers/suggestions (assuming you're looking for a new notebook).
