    Hi,

First off, I know it seems a ridiculous question, but I've been using a dell inpsiron 8600 for about 4+ years now, almost always plugged into the wall with the battery in, had no problems whatsoever. But with just ordering the m15x and all, wanted to know whether this is right or wrong, so I don't add any more problems to the ever increasing list of issues with the m15x.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Your fine. Its normal to have the battery in the laptop even while plugged into the wall. That's also how you charge the battery :p

well leaving the battery just sitting there without any activity can drain the battery faster than a normal battery.

The other thing to remember is leaving the battery plugged in helps it acts as a UPS in case of power outages, it's come in handy for me a few times.
