So, last night, as I turned of my laptop, I noticed something odd. Normally, the battery indicator is green when it's charged and orange when charging. But for some reason it was "blinking" between orange and green. Re-plugging the cable solved it but battery was at 100% when I booted it up - it discharges normally under load - Not sure what to make of it.

If unplugging and replugging solved it I wouldn't worry about it.

Can't reproduce it either - battery works normally, when it gets to 100% it stops charging, it discharges properly, the charger only activates if battery capacity is under 95%, as it should and the maximum 100% is reached.

You would be surprised at how much little things can cause weird behavior in electronics. As an example, if you use a lab analytical balance to weigh a sample and said sample has a static charge it can cause the balance to be unable to accurately weigh the sample and the reading will drift until the charge is dissipated.
It is possible that some kind of weird behavior was taking place with the battery controller due to that kind of "fluke". Unless the behavior is recurrent I wouldn't think much of it. Residual charge, static electricity, some kind of magnetic field. All those can cause weird behaviors in the right circumstances. I once dropped a very weak magnet and it fell on straight on a USB cable hooked to my laptop. Took a few secs for me to remove it and during that time, it caused the computer to reboot. One of the scariest tech moments of my life, the laptop was fine and nothing was damaged.
Heck, screaming at hard drives is enough to cause issues.
The TL;DR is: sometimes weird behavior occurs. Don't think much of it if everything works fine and it isn't recurring.tilleroftheearth, John Ratsey, don_svetlio and 1 other person like this.
