    Battery cable ?

    I wasnt sure were to post this. But neways i got an msi wind u123 netbook to day, i have it plugged into the wall charging while im using it and the square part not sure what it is called feels super hot, kinda hurts to touch, it is it supposed to be that hot ?

    I wouldn't call it hot (so that you can't touch it), but they can get quite warm. Nevertheless, they do malfunction so it can be hard to tell when the "normal" warm is too warm.

    They're commonly call A/C adapters, but also the familiar power bricks, or sometimes just "brick". Though power supply, converter, or transformer, and charger wouldn't be an inaccurate name.

    ah ok, i couldnt remeber the name. neways it was quit hot but, then it got colder when it was almost at 100% charge which i found weird. so i dono it seems like it is working cause it is charging. but i just thought that it was weird be cause it hurt to touch it, with it being that hot could it harm the netbook ?

    It cooled off when it neared 100% charge because it was delivering far less power to the laptop. It is not uncommon for AC adapters to get pretty hot, so much that it is uncomfortable to touch them.

    Ah ok thanks so it will not damage the net book thats the only thing i really care about haha. I am new to laptops and such ima desktop person.

    Yes, just like filling your gas tank: muy rapido from empty to 90%, then it slowsville down to a trickle for last 10% or so.
