HWMonitor shows my 6-cell as having 5200 mWh of battery capacity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AA_battery and my AA battery itself shows a single AA battery as having 2500 mWh. Does this mean that 2 AA batteries has about the same capacity as my 6-cell?

Are you sure that is correct? My 8-cell has 72535 mWhr.

Yup, HWMonitor Pro confirms 5200 mWh, that is 2 zeros, not 3.

But wait, Dell advertises the 6-cell as 56 Wh, which is 56,000 mWh, so is HWMonitor flawed?

A rechargeable AA battery is 1.2 volts at approx 2500mah ,

A Li-ion cell is 3.7 volts at 2500mah , it has more than 3x the capacity of the AA rechargeable.

A 6 cell lin-ion battery has more power than 18x AA rechargeable battery's.

Tinderbox (UK) is correct. Watt-hours is calculated by multiplying voltage and current. For example, my battery has three cells with a total output of 42Wh. Voltage is 11.1v (3 x 3.7v) and current is 3800mah (3 x ~1267mah).

2500mAh for an AA battery is pretty hight - these are the expensive ones.
(the old ones in my Powershot (pre EOS) are 1600mAh each)

    My Vaio's I believe 6 cell battery hat 62.640mWh when new - after 7.2% wear I have 58.000 left.

Pretty sure there's a zero missing in there. Try another application?
