I have a Core2Duo laptop now with 8600 gpu and the battery time sucks big time. My last laptop was a Dell with Core Duo processor, but only integrated gpu. I could get over 5 hours on the battery if i dimmed down the screen. I was wondering how AMD® Mobile Processor Turion64 X2 is when it comes to battery lifetime compared to Core2Duo.

Full charge with Dim lights would only get me about 2 hours Maximum battery life.

Actual time would be around 1 hour to 1 and 30 minutes.

An Acer Aspire 4520 specs in the Sig.

Also having Aero on has an effect on battery life of about 10-15 minutes.

generally turion X2s get good battery life, though not quite as good as C2Ds, your GPU/screen/wireless have a bigger affect on bat life than TurionX2 vs. C2D

The best so far is 3 hours. Not so good, but better than my Asus G1S.

Im considering to buy a 13.3" laptop with either TurionX2 or CoreDuo. So im trying to see which one could give me best batterytime. It will have integrated gpu, so it wont be a powerhog. What i consider as good batterytime is at least 3 hours.

Asus have bad battery life. The C2D does have better battery life but as mentioned a lot more factors can come into play.

Intel processors sometimes manages power better than AMD. Also depends on specs.. a less powerful CPU uses less juice. Also depends on the battery size and laptop maker. Lots of variables.
