I just ordered one HP dv6700t which comes with standard 6 cell lithium ion battery. I missed to upgrade it to high capacity while ordering. Can anyone tell what is the expected battery life with that battery from this notebook?

And, where can I get a compatible battery for less??? HP sells one for about $130, but I am looking for a cheaper alternative...

Can anyone tell me what is the output of 6 cell battery for dv6700?

That's because I bought mine with 12 cells but it's too big and heavy...but my sister has a Presario C700 and the battery fits perfect, but the output is 10.8v instead of 11.1v.

And if you are interested we can change...hehehe. The life for 12 cells is pretty good (5h +/-), but it's really big and heavy...I can't believe!!!!

10.8v for standard 6cell which gives around 1:30mins battery life

Do you mean that (for the same notebook model) the 12cell is 11.1v and the 6 cell is 10.8v?

    Thanks,
    Vitor

Yes. The more cells there are higher the voltage will be.

Laptops can handle higher voltages aswell. Up to 13v im guessing since brand new batterys put out more voltage than rated.

Just remember that the 12-cell is twice the size as the 6-cell and sticks out the bottom of the laptop, forming a kind of sloped keyboard. It gives you twice the battery life of the 6-cell but there is a slight size compromise.

I have both batteries, and use the 12-cell when I know I will be away from an outlet for a long period of time.

I know. But as I travel a lot, I prefer something lighter...I have both too because I bought a notebook for my sister, then a can switch the batteries.

I was just concerned about the voltage.

the batteries you have are 10.8v and 11.1v?

    Thanks,
    Vitor
