I always have my laptop plugged in since it's not mobile 99% of the time, it's always just sitting at 100% charge for the 9 or so months since I bought this new, today I noticed that it has stopped charging at 95%, just says plugged in available, no time to full charge anymore. Any ideas or someone with knowledge on this issue? Is it a problem? Does it need to be drained fully/trained? Should I run it down and plug it in at night instead? This doesn't have a modular battery but I can take it out.

Leave it on and drain it w/ it unplugged / recharge / repeat to clear the memory on it. I find the quickest way is to run a high power game and it will discharge in about an hour or slightly less.

I do this once a month to keep it healthy as in the past I've left them on 24/7 like a desktop and gradually they lose capacity until you only have a couple of minutes of unplugged run time.

Yeah I did unplug it and i only get a woeful hour or so from 95% charge, of course watching video and other browsing tabs open at the same time, optimus disabled so only 2060 etc It got down to 35% and then I really needed it to not die with what I was doing so plugged it back in and it went back up to 100% now. I'll experiment with it, game would probably kill it in 20mins or less lol

Chances are the battery capacity has dropped to 95%. That means the battery ends its constant voltage charge stage (4.3v/cell or whatever it is for your battery) at 95% capacity. After subsequent reboots, your Battery Management System should mark this 95% capacity point as 100%.

Well it's been charging up to "full" consistently, no idea as to what that is though, maybe check the bios next reboot. I've been unplugging here and there and letting it run down, like mentioned it does go up to 100% again. Depending on what I'm doing it lasts about 2 hours, that's all non gaming just internet and other typical stuff, but not video playing. Even if it is not really 100% it would be ok to just run it off the plug as this is almost always plugged in use, it's been about 8 mos since new.

Yeah for primarily AC use, I think it's better to configure the laptop (if able) to charge only to 90% at most. On my XPS I don't have it start charging until it hits below 50% and then stop at 85%. It helps to extend the life of the battery since there are only a finite number of charges the cells can go through. You may want to check into it.
