    Hi everyone,
I have bought brand new dell studio1555 yesterday. And i have found that it battery timming is only 2 and half hours, I am worried about it. Can anybody suggest what should i do?
What may be the problem? is there anything wrong on my side or it is battery issue. I have warranty card, and the shop from where i bought this they said that it has both domestic and international warranties. I can claim it here in pakistan also.
I was thinking that may be it s not problem with the battery but some settings that i have to make.

    Looking for ur suggestions,

    Thanks
    Ali

I think you are getting the battery life expected (if you have the 6 cell battery). Are you switching the power options to 'Power saver'? That might net you another 30 minutes.

See this thread for expected battery life for your model:

As tiller mentions, make sure you're in Power Saver mode, and turn down your display brightness as well. You may also want to consider undervolting. Though if you're talking about the 6 cell standard battery, there's only so much to be done.

Thanks to both of you for ur replies.
I am not sure about battery, whether it is is 6 cell or 9 cell. It is new one. How can i check 6 cell or 9 ??
Suppose if it is 6 cell? Then you think 2.5 hours for new laptop is normal, i don't need to worry ???

    regards
    Ali

If it sticks out, then it is a nine cell battery and you're getting too low times with it.

Did you check the thread I linked in my first post?

    Good luck.
