I was considering, (am still considering) a laptop with the T5550. But it appears out of all the laptop processors listed on Intels web site, the T5550 is literally "stripped".
For example it is the only core 2 duo listed without...
1. Intel Virtualization, (no biggie)
2. Enhanced Speed Step
3. Intel 64
4. Execute dissable bit.
So, what gives. My other choice is the t5450....it have more of the above options....
AND is there a difference between "Enhanced" Speed Step and Speed Step, or is their only one of these that exists...

If you want a new T5450 I have one!!

Here is an Intel link, does support, Enhanced Speed Step, Intel 64 and Execute disable bit.

There's a mistake on Intel's website. The T5550 is a perfectly fine Core2Duo CPU, supporting all the technologies that are standard with the Core2 architecture.
-
I have seen 2 different places where the specs were different.
Did you get a chance to click the link I provided?
I appreciate you giving me this info...
The models I'm looking at, (all fujitsu) give me the choice of
T5450, T5550.
Or exact same spec machine with turion 64x2 2.0ghz
I have no prob with AMD, but I read that the intel units are more reliable.
thanks for your input -
There are two versions of the T5550. The earlier version runs at 1.6Ghz, and the later version at 1.8Ghz. Both versions support the standard Core2 architecture technologies, so the only reason that table you linked shows no tick for those technologies would be either because the person entering the values in the database was lazy, or there is some error reading the values from the database.
The official page for the T5550 CPU is here:
http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLA4E
with the page for the older version found here:
http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9SH -
The other option is the turion 64x2 2.0ghz...
you think it's on par with the T5450 or T5550? -
