    Hi guys,
My new Lenovo Y580 should be shipped in few days. I've been looking around what is the best RAM upgrade for gaming possible if I'm upgrading to 16GB. So far it looks like Kingston HyperX might be the best

    Amazon.com: HyperX Plug n Play 16GB (2x8GB) Kit of 2 1600MHz PC3-12800 DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 SODIMM Notebook Memory KHX16S9P1K2/16: Computers & Accessories
because it has 1600Mhz and cas latency of 9. Then again I dont have much knowledge about ram.

Also read somewhere there is no really performance advantage.
The chance I'm upgrading to 16GB is small since I dont really use that much RAM. I guess I just curious what is the best one for 16 GB (2x8) SO DIMM RAM.

    Thank you

It would be the HyperX, followed by the Corsair Vengeance, but honestly, while it can make a slight difference, i'd get a SSD before getting faster RAM.

depends on ur laptop, if the BIOS allows memory OC then the 30nm Samsung Low Voltage Green SODIMM sticks aren't half bad. Most can OC to 2133mhz CL11 2N right off the bat.

They don't make the Samsung in 2x8GB yet though. But otherwise I agree with this statement. I own six sticks myself! :)
