    Hi,

I just want to upgrade a HP 840 G2 to matte FHD IPS or AHVA panel.

Which is the best panel you'd recommend?

So far I read good things about:
    AUO B140HAN 1.2
    or
    LP140WF3-SPD2
    or something else?

    Which one do you recommend?

The LG LP140WF3 as in my Dell E7450 is the best 14" FHD panel I have looked at. It has slightly less anti-glare coating than the AUO panel which consequently had a slightly sparkly effect although it has a slightly better colour gamut than the LG panel.

Neither is as good as the Sharp FHD panels that I have in the 15.6" Precision 5510 and the 13.3" Latitude 7370 but I don't know if Sharp make a 14" panel in the same family.

Thanks! Can you possibly tell which version of LP140WF3 do you have? The LP140WF1-SPK1 was one of the worst IPS panels ever made, is yours maybe a SPD2?

Sorry the T440 was LP140WF1 not 3, so the 3 seems to be all safe.

    I have AUO B140HAN01.2 in my T450s and AUO133D in this HP 840 G2 (according to hwinfo64).
Both are IPS but AUO133D is much brighter. Image quality wise they are pretty much similar to me otherwise. HP brightness goes up to "my eyes hurt" and Lenovo is "meh".

I think I should crack the display open to see what other markings the panel has, since this sample has some clouding on the right side. Some previous owner has mistreated the laptop. I'd like to replace this with a new panel, since this unit otherwise feels like a keeper :)

Oh, cool. So this auo133d is also another b140han variant... getting exactly right one will be a challenge.

I would take a look at the LG’s LP140WF3-SPD1 That is the model they use on the Razer Blade 14.
