    Hi everyone

First of all does such a drive exist, are there any bigger drives available for laptops, and if so who makes them.

I found that Seagate make such a drive, has anyone had any experience of using one. I was thinking about buying one when i upgrade to vista, any thoughts welcome.

    Thanks people

as for the moment, the largest 7200rpm 2.5" notebook drive only comes in 100GB.

in mid-2007, it has been projected that there would be more 7200rpm 2.5" notebooks HDDs. Until then, 120-160gb 2.5" notebook drives are 5400rpm and 200gb is 4200 rpm.

I also think the current largest 7200rpm notebook drive is 100GB. If there is something bigger it's extremely rare and its cost will likely go right along with its rarity. You can also look for an external 3.5" drive, they're pretty cheap and I believe that they go up to 500GB.

Some people are claiming that the Hitachi 160GB 5400rpm is faster than the smaller capacity same speed models, because of its PMR (Perpedicular Magnetic Recording) feature. I wonder how true that is.
