Hi! I'm currently looking for an reliable 300GB SDD for my laptop. I've seen the 256GB SSD but as I looked into my Crive and it says that I have used most of my 218GB HDD. So I decided to get a 300GB SDD instead of a 256GB SDD.
I know Intel has 300GB SDD's but I'm not sure which one is best for laptops.![]()

The best 300 GB SSD is the Intel 320 because it's the only 300 GB SSD. Everybody else goes for 240/250/256 GB.
Of course, if you're willing to splurge for a 500+ GB SSD, there's a lot more choice. -
No matter the size, in SSDs if you consider the whole package with an eye towards reliability then Intel is number 1, Samsung is number 2, and everybody else is quite a ways behind them fighting for number 3.
-
that must be coming form YodaGoneMad's wild backyard BBQ statistics, as most know both Intel and Samsung have been outstanding in terms of reliability.
Besides, Samsung is making memory chips much longer than Intel has, so ripping one in favor of the other is BS (from backyard statistics LOL)
OP: there's a whole section for SSD related questions, look in there next time. -
Intel publishes their failure rates, claims the highest reliability, and offers a 5 year warranty. If the claim was false then Samsung would shoot it down with their own data, but they don't, because Intel is the most reliable. Samsung is also only offering a 3 year warranty, which says something about their expected reliability versus Intel.
-
Where are those published Intel reports for reliability? Forums and H/W reviews usually have Intel / Sumsung / Crucial in an almost virtual 3 way tie on cost vs. reliability.
-
what you just said has so many issues that I can just LOL. -> from facts, to sales and competition strategies, to influence of personal choice and assumption.

From the various statements above it looks like SSD's are not ready for prime time. I'll just stick to my trusty hard drive(s) for a while longer.
Best 300GB SSD in the market?
