I'm looking for the best/fastest DDR2 SODIMM sticks available. My ms-1722 supports most brands I just want to know how to get the best bang out of my buck.

What's the max RAM speed that your laptop can use? DDR2-533? DDR2-667? DDR2-800?

Something like this is pretty cheap considering it's Kingston Hyper X
-
The best/fastest memory usually doesn't correspond to bang for your buck. The best memory = 4GB sticks but they aren't really needed nor are they cheap. On the other hand the best bang for your buck is any cheap 2GB stick (can go as low as $10-20). You won't notice any difference between a "faster" 2GB stick.

My laptops max ddr2 speed is 800. I know that latency and alot of times even brands can make a difference in ram options.
-
EDIT: 800 is a pretty fast speed...doesnt get much faster than that...you should probably just be happy with itI would...my RAM speed is 667

I'll go with the same answer as i always do for this kinda question and like all others usualy do.
Go with the CHEAPEST 2x2GB ram sticks that works with your notebook that has a lifetime warranty.
You will NOT see any difference in performance between 800Mhz and 667MHz for example, nor CL4 vs CL5, if you decide to get 800MHz CL4 for example, you're only paying extra for the specs that doesn't do anything good for you but wasting money. -
Thank you for the advice. I will go with the cheapest combo like you guys mentioned.
-
Just make sure that it has a lifetime warranty.

I bought this to replace the 3gb (the 2gb was faulty and causing pre-fetch errors) setup in my computer. Chose it because it had great reviews and lower cas latency and better timings than most laptop memory. But to tell the truth I cannot tell any difference in speed. Its only 667 not sure if that matters.
