The best/safest way is to do a clean install of Win7 on the SSD.
You can play around with Acronis and get it to work (seemingly with no rhyme or reason...) or, you can simply install Win7 SP1 'clean' and know that not only are you aligned, but that your O/S installation is also optimized for your new hardware.
Download your version of Win7 here:
See:

And simply enter your COA code after you're satisfied with your install (all drivers/functions work on your notebook).
Good luck. -
I had no issues cloning my old drive at work to the Intel 320 I got a while back. I used the Western Digital version of Acronis as I had a Western Digital drive I was replacing, and I just ran the clone option to the 320. Worked fine, alignment came out correct too.
I do know some people have had issues with cloning and alignment, but that's my (admittedly limited) experience. -
If you have already installed Windows 7 directly (not an upgraded Vista install), then the alignment will already be set for cloning to SSD. Everything you need is already included in Windows 7.
Here's the guide I used: http://www.ssdfreaks.com/content/664/how-to-clone-hdd-to-ssd-with-windows-7s-own-software
