I finally got my D630, main specs are: T7300 cpu, X3100 gfx, 80gb 7200 rpm HDD.... not sure what the chipset is.

Basically I'm looking to buy a 2gb ram chip to up my RAM to 2.5gb (with original 512mb chip).

The current chip is DDR2 667 mhz, so i'll be staying with that type of speed/ram.

Three choices have come up on www.newegg.com

Also, is heat spreader of any use? is it worth anything? or is it just some fancy device to make the chip sound better?

and what is that auto-refresh compliant in patriot ram?

    thx all!

they are all the same, just take the cheapest one.
RAM speed and latency have such a tiny impact on performance that its impossible to notice a difference except with certain benchmarks.
heat spreaders are useless too, its a piece of metal surrounding the RAM

only for overclockers, Dell don't exactly use those name brands to begin with. I never heard nor had RAM failures in my Dells yet.

Doing the same, with the exception of thinking about 800mhz memory. Is it worth it getting it and setting lower latency at 667Mhz?
