Hey guys. I'm looking to buy an SSD, but unfortunately, it must meet certain strigent criteria, budget being the primary requisite:

    1) Capacity must be 32GB or larger
    2) Must be MLC, SATA II, TRIM support
    3) Performance and reliability are critical
    4) Budget is set at around $200

Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The 80GB Intel is your best bet, though slightly more than $200.

Amazon is selling the 80GB Intel x25M G2 for $215. If you look for coupons, you might be able to get it for less than that.

As long as you don't live in California, sure. I hate 10% sales tax.

Agreed, Intel G2 80GB is the best buy for $200.

If you don't need the capacity you could also look for Corsair Nova V64 and Kingston V+ 64GB Gen 2. These are slightly faster than the Intel in real life but lack the track record of the Intel.

By the way, if battery life is very important the Intel is not the best buy.

Thanks for the heads up! I wasn't planning to use this in a laptop, it's for a review that I am writing on a Silverstone HDDBOOST.

I don't know that device but if writing speed is important for it, don't get the Intel. Writing speed is Intel's Achilles heel, especially the 80GB and 40GB.

Using a 60GB OCZ Vertex in my laptops for almost a year and it's great.

Got a 128gb OCZ Vertex in my desktop too. Check out some benchmarks of different models with price in mind then make your decision.
