    Hello Everyone,

I am planning to place a thermal pad on the CPU but the thermal pads in fact comes with various thicknesses. May I please know which thickness is the most suitable for lowering the temps on the CPU?

More like how much space is between the heatsink and CPU die, get one that is slightly thicker than that.

    On your notebook ..... ?

Check whether it uses a thermal pad in the first place, most notebooks I've tested use thermal paste between the processor and the heatsink.

What Charles said, it's most likely thermal paste that is used and it will give you much better temps. If you want a decent brand of thermal paste, we can recommend you many.
