Be it a burner or just a reader doesn't really matter to me. As long as I can get it for a good price and it will fit in a Sager NP9170. Suggestions? Trying to find a good one under $100.
Would this work? Also would I need anything else to install it? Or can I just slide it in and tada?

That's the one I got for my Asus G53SW. It is literally tons better than the one that came stock, but I can't say how it rates to other laptop bluray burners. I found it for $55 though so it was one of the less expensive ones I've found.

Yeah I picked it because it was cheap and had 20 5 star reviews so I figure it has to be pretty good? So are all notebook blu ray drives the same size? or have the same connectors? Do I need anything else to install it?

Here's a very similar, slightly cheaper version with an included enclosure: Amazon.com: Blu-Ray USB External Player DVDRW: Computers & Accessories
It's the UJ220 instead of the UJ240. The reviews are pretty favorable. Note that it is pretty slow and does not burn BD-ROMs. -
That is straight sexy looking as is this. I know it's more expensive but is it a good or better choice? I was considering external just so I didn't have to install it and risk making a mistake or doing something wrong.
Best internal Blu Ray drive for the money?
