I'm looking for a new laptop, but want one with an easily replaceable HDD (i.e. Toshiba Satellites, some Acer laptops, etc..)

Isn't more or less very similar to replace the HDD? What brand are you leaning towards and for what reasons?

most thinkpads are a breeze. many of the HP's are very easy. its really a broad question....

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Most business notebooks usually have the HDD in a sled that's fairly easily removable. I don't think you can segment this by brand.

On my Dell, it required taking the whole motherboard out to replace the harddrive
I would like a lightweight laptop (like an Asus X501A as I'm not bothered about a DVD drive) but I don't think they're easy to replace on there
I want this one

Most laptops are quick and easy. Just a couple screws and bang you're done.

Like others have said, most laptops have very easily replaceable hard drives. This isn't something that changes by brand or anything. All laptops have either easily replaceable drives, or require some form of disassembly. You can easily tell by looking at pictures or checking one out in a store if the drive is easily removable.

It's a good idea to download the service manual for a laptop before buying it. That's a tell-all. Some companies keep them under wraps ... others like Dell make it readily accessible to download.
Best laptops to open/replace HDD?
