Best looking in terms of aesthetics? I like Vantec and Antec.

Yup aestheticically
Do they only have one model for esata? -

Amazon.com: Antec MX-25 2.5-Inch SATA Hard Drive Enclosure with Dual USB 2.0, eSATA Interface and 3-Head USB Cable: Electronics
Vantec doesn't have any 2.5" e-SATA enclosures that I can see. -

Yeah, they do - I have a few myself.
Here's one:
Buy the Vantec NexStar3 2.5 HDD Enclosure at TigerDirect.ca -
Amazon.com: Vantec NexStar 3 External HDD Case 2.5", USB2.0 and eSATA, up to 250Gb (Blue): Office Products
it says that it only supports 260gb max -
tilleroftheearth Wisdom listens quietly...
Yeah, I would say they're the same - the 250GB limit is marketing I suppose (to costly to change an 'old' product line) - I know I'm using 500GB in mine.
It may depend on the actual HDD used? (Using BEVT and 7K500 in mine).
Good luck. -
they are gorgeous cases indeed. i even saw their better looking usb 3 model but i dont have usb 3 built in though.
-
there is a rosewell eSATA one with a fan its sleek and keeps my drive at 29C in an 80 degree Fahrenheit room. They also sell a usb 3.0 one too

To those who have a vantec are they kinda large for a portable external?
They look quite big in the amazon pics -
I would consider the Silverstone TS02. Great looking external with RFID key fob for complete data protection. I have first hand experience with this device, and wrote a professional review on it, located here:

Or, if you like to access your hard drive quickly and easily, the Silverstone RVS01 external HDD enclosure is also an attractive choice. You can check out the review I wrote on it (with plenty of pictures!) here:

the rvs01 looks like a better choice between the 2
