    Hello everybody..
I'm still waiting for my w3j and right noew considering a sound card which can suit this awesome notebook.

    So here's the question:

Which soundcard is best for home use? W3j will be the only source for mp3s and it will be connected to hi-fi stereosystem, so I need a really nice sound card. It can be external ot internal - doesn't matter, but It has to be removable for me sometimes gain in weight and power consumption.

The budget is somewhere around $300

    Thanks everybody!

That is a nice budget there for some good cards. However, if you want something cheap and removable with great sound I recommend the Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro (TBAAM) USB. It is just larger than a memory stick and has an optical audio out and amp built in. At around $25 you can't go wrong. I am a member of the audiophile board www.head-fi.org and it comes highly recommended there. It is widely acknowledged the TBAAM punches well above its cost.

I advise you do some thread searches there since there is a lot of information about this kind of thing.

creative labs audigy 2 ZS is best i think since it is Thx certified...it uses pcmia slot...think it cost around 90$....dont think you'll need to spend 300$ on notebook sound card :) but can spend the rest on speakers though as even the best sound card can't do everything without a good speaker

I whole heartedly recomend the Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro. It's a great upgrade for real cheap. The only downside of the TBAAM is that is has no audio imput. So if you only need output capabilities, you won't be dissapointed.
