Thought I would pass along that BestBuy (at least in my area) has discontinued carrying the Hitachi 7k200 notebook drives in their store. So while it's still $159 online, individual stores can set the prices to clear them out. The store I went to was out of stock, but while they were checking inventory of stores in my area, I saw prices from $98 to $127. I got one for $109.

This should probably go into the deals but what capacity were they selling?

my best buy only carry's 5400rpm drives and really low end like 3yrs ago tech, at super high prices and its amazing that people actually buy it.
You can get the 7k200 after rebate or on sale for $100 from zipzoomfly or newegg, when they have specials on them. its a good drive and teh prices of harddrives are dropping which is a good thing

Edit to add: This is an upgrade kit which include cloning software and a USB enclosure. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I wasn't really aware there was a separate deals section. -
About a month ago I decided to get a second 7k200 to pair with the one I already had so I could try RAID on my 6860. At the time BB's price for the upgrade kit was better than newegg's price on the bare OEM drive! I haven't installed it yet though, I'm still running both my old 7k200 and the stock 5k Toshiba. The 7k drive actually runs a few degrees cooler than the stock drive. Wonder why they are discontinuing the 7k200...
