Hey guys, I am going to be buying a Inspiron E1505, 1 GB RAM, 256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1400 HyperMemory.

These are included in the price -

    Intel® Core™ Duo Proc T2050 (1.60GHz/533MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache)
15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife

Pertaining to the above, I have the option to upgrade to these -

    Intel® Core™ Duo Proc T2400 (1.83GHz/667MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache)
15.4 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife

My problem is that I cant afford to add both of them. I can only upgrade to 1 of the above options. I dont know which of them would be better for me. Please help me out.
    Cheers & thanks,
    WD.

Unless you like having a lot of screen space, WXGA is fine for most users. Also make sure you have seen WSXGA+ before buying so you know how small the text appears on screen.

Personally, I would upgrade the processor as I use WXGA and its fine. Also to save money have you looked into getting the default RAM/HD config and upgrading yourself? It usually turns out cheaper that way.

I'd get the better screen. But then again, I'm a sucker for high resolutions... Really depends on which resolution you prefer to work with.

I would go for a better CPU for more processing power. A larger resolution can sometimes be disasterous, bringing down the average Frames Per second a lot, especially with a low-end GPU such as X1400.

It is not worth getting the better screen. However, you will benefit hugely with the better CPU.
