I had an Inspiron E1705 with WuXGA (1920*1200) 17" Truelife .. and it was really nice.. about twice-three times as bright as any IBM screens (which usually cost way way more), plus it was damn sharp.. the only thing I would critizise that it was not perfectly lid .. but it wasn't annoying or anything, in the middle of the screen it was like unbeatable great and on the outer parts it was excellent - so I am wondering if there is a screen that is like unbeatable in every region BUT in a notebook with the same specs as a typical inspiron e1705 (2.0ghz dual 2 core, 2gig 667mhz ram, 100gig 7200rpm hdd, nvidia gs 7900) and all that for like 1900-2000$? (on dell this machine would cost me like 1897$ or something and with coupon only $1747, so I am quite picky...)
    thanks guys!!

The Inspiron E1705 is a good laptop especially at the price it is offered at. I think it is the best 17" laptop.

To answer your question, try the Qosmio AV660 WUXGA screen blows the 1705 screen by far. Also try the Sony AR WUXGA screen for real quality. I saw the M1710 screen has a brighter screen than the 1705.
