Even though this thread has been extremely helpful, it doesn't refer to my model and I'd like to get some feedback. So, I thought it might be best to start a new thread.
    My model is a Satellite M305D-S4831 (PSMDYU-00E005)
The fix seems to work for so many. I read this thread and actually joined Notebookreview forums because of it. A great help, encouraging people involved, I'm thankful I found y'all

I've tried it and came the closest to success that I have in weeks. However, I think I should have asked this question before I actually created the USB flash drive. (I had to do it on an XP computer for Crisdisk to work.) Original Symptoms: My DH didn't know I had a BIOS flash in the CDROM and freaked out when he heard it beeping and blue screens, and such, so he took all measures to shut it down. This caused a power up, no screen, CDROM for about 10 sec. HD spinning, then fan on as the machine heats up, then shuts itself off when the low running fan can't keep it cool enough sequence. Research led me here. Now, I'm having a new problem...

First off, I need to get this question answered: Where is the .ROM file in this package? Even after extracting it out every file possible. I could not find one. This is the original BOIS for the computer, according to the Toshiba Downloads page. I've checked all the BIOS packages for my Satellite M305D-S4831 (PSMDYU-00E005). It is a Vista 64, so there were only 2 and they look very much the same. (aside from the WHP file)

I decided to use the BU2GA329.WPH, renaming it BIOS.WPH.
I followed the directions using the FN + ESC. (the only combo that would at least make the MB beep)

It beeped for about 2 min. Then it got quite, but the fan kept running. After 20 minutes--really trying to stay on the safer side--I tried to power down, not work. I can't recall, for sure, if I tried Ctrl + Alt + Del to reboot. Ended up pulling the power.
    NOW, it does nothing.
The indicator light showing it's plugged in, works.
I can slip in the battery but it doesn't register as charging. I did read that if the computer is off, the battery light will not come on unless it needs a charge. I'm pretty sure it does not. Otherwise, nothing.
No power light when I tap, or hold the button
    No fan.
    No beeps.
    Nothing.
ANY IDEAS, PLEASE?? I've already sent off for a new MB, I'm not brave enough to solder a BIOS chip. I'd really like to fix this one, though.
Thank you so much & many blessings to all y'all!!!

I went ahead and deleted your post in the thread mentioned above [cross posting not allowed].
However, if you do not receive any other help, I can move this thread to the Hardware subforum of Notebookreview. Just post here if you want it moved.

I wish I could be of more help. I'm a complete "noob" when it comes to BIOS issues.

    Good luck

Thanks, Alex. I didn't see a way that I could delete that first post, myself. It's probably a good idea to move to the Hardware subforum. I appreciate the help. I'll be back when I have more Toshiba "other" questions or info...
    Again, Thank you!
    Blessings...

    Not a problem.

Although you may not receive specific help regarding your BIOS [maybe you will], you may receive more general tips on how to further proceed in the hardware section.

    Good luck
