I can't enable hardware encrypted bitlocker drives.
Everything I do results in software encryption.
My SSD is a Crucial M550 1TB, which is SED.
Windows 8.1 Pro x64.
See signature for laptop.
Does anybody have any ideas on how to get this to work?

in most cases I have seen it is because the BIOS/EFI on the system does not support TPM. a fairly common issue with consumer laptops. The link above has a policy adjust in it to help you if this is the issue.
