    Black sticky tape around gpu

    I removed the black sticky tape around the gpu similar to whats seen here [​IMG]


    I heard it was to prevent shorts but I'm not sure what I should replace it with since the sticker itself is shot. I have thermal pads and electrical tape.

    electrical tape is fine. as long as you are using regular, non-conductive paste you dont need to worry about it. ive been running my 980M without tape for ages now without issues :)
