Good Day! Im waiting for delivery of my new laptop ASUS G75VW ROG. There is installed 2x750Gb HDD and Blu-Ray.
    Could you advise:
    1. Does the Blu-Ray have similar connection SATA III as HDD or not?
    2. Is it possible to keep 2 HDDs and replace Blu-Ray with SSD to use it as boot-drive?
    Thanks :)

Many laptops have Sata II for the ODD bay. You would be better off if this is the case placing the SSD in the primary HDD bay and moving one of the HDD's to the ODD bay in a caddy. You should check to see if your ODD bay is Sata III or not.

    Abidderman has it right.

I would also check if the notebook has mSATA. Even if it is only SATA2 it will still be a great setup with only the O/S and programs running on it (256GB M4 recommended) and most of the DATA and/or multimedia stored to the HDD's.

So what are you trying to do or gain from the loosing the Blu drive? Why can't you not use the HDD instead as the boot drive? If you ever need to install or reboot your laptop you will need the Blu drive you know. Also no all programs are downloaded and some still do require a cd/dvd/blu drive to install. So I think your misplacing your priorities here and should look at the bigger picture the dvd/blu drive serves a purpose on larger laptop other then taking up spaces. If you wanted to play a dvd/blu movie you will need the drive for that and to burn/read cd/dvd/blu you will also need that drive. One may say I don't need it but trust me if you start to have external attachments like ext dvd/blu drive you make more work for yourself. So one shouldn't just dismiss the dvd/blu drive as it does have its purpose why else would it be there to begin with.
