I just bought a Dell L502X :D . Best laptop I've ever had. Anyway, I didn't think it was worth a £91 upgrade via Dell to get the Blu-Ray, so I would like to buy the Blu-Ray drive separately. I need to know which drives are suitable for the L502X. Is it only the Hitachi CT30N which is what appears to be installed by Dell if you plump for the Blu-Ray drive option? I've seen some drives on Ebay between £40 - 60 which I'm more than happy to pay - especially as I could get anything up to £30 for the DVD drive already in the machine, thus the new drive effectively will only cost around £30.
For instance, is the following drive suitable?:
DELL XPS M1530 BLU-RAY CD/DVD WRITER DRIVE RARE! | eBay
I believe it's very simple to swap the drives over, simply only requiring a screw to be undone, but if anyone's actually done this any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.
