So when I first learned what blue tooth was, I was excited as hell, I thought to myself, "Yes the next gen in wireless technology is here!" I went out and bought a cell phone, PC adapter and keyboard and headset that were all bluetooth capable.
But...
Over the months and years(for the cell phone especially) I've noticed a kind of gradual degredation in the bluetooth signal strength. My friend has one to and his bluetooth signal from his phone has goten so weak he has to put the cell phoen on his shoulder, to get it to connect with his bluetooth headset.
Now, My new ASUS laptop has blue tooth on it, I love it to death and I'm considering dropping a few bucks on a new bluetooth Headset, Keyboard and mouse for it.
My question here is, Is it worth it?
Or is there some hidden defect in all bluetooth technolog that causes it to rapidly degrade in performance?
What are your thoughts? Opinions?

I have had no issues with my phone or my laptop, he just may have some hardware dying wich is normal in all things electronic.
In a computer it would be easy and cheap to replace a bluetooth adapter also if the need ever arrises.
I have bluetooth headphones wich I adore makes doing things much more comfortable with no wires around to get tangled in. I plan to upgrade my cellphone to have bluetooth headphone support and get a 2nd pair of headphones for athletic things. -
So Maybe it is just bad luck, That is extremely promising. *grin*

Vicious- what model of Bluetooth headphones do you have? I purchased a pair of Motorola S9 headphones; the reception is so poor, it picks up only when I press my head against the notebook chassis!

In all my experience with blue tooth, It's the main unit that experiences poor signal output(IE The laptop itself not the head phones)
Have you checked it recently with other blue tooth devices?
Also, does any body have or know of a listing of good quality blue tooth devices? (I'll likely buy Jabra for everything I can get, But I'm still unsure about my Keyboard, mouse etc other options.)
Btw, I sure wish they'd make Bluetooth printers, One less cord would be awesome. -

They have Wi-Fi printing so wireless is an option and its better than bluetooth for that kind of work.
My headphones are Plantronics Pulsars, One thing really neat about them is they have there own bluetooth transmitter than plugs into an audio device so you do not have to use them with a bluetooth device like a phone or laptop, you can use them with normal things like a cd player or an ipod with no hassles.
I have a review of them on the forums, go check it out. Also look for my "bluetooth mini guide" it has a few different models listed so you can look at other options too. -
Thanks for the information!
