well i've searched a bunch of places, since i can't use my integrated IR sensor in my HPdv6000 laptop, i wondered if they had bluetooth SD cards , it would seem they do - but it seems only for Palm, or other handheld devices of the sort, my question is, does anyone know if there is just a simple SD bluetooth card out there that should function in a laptop? (in windows), or have you heard of the ones for palm working in windows through a pc/notebook? thanks for anyhelp.

It would work ONLY if you had a SDIO (Secure Disc with Input/Output ability) and I do not think that the dv6000 does. I could be wrong, but if not you can always look at the Bluetooth USB receivers to get what you are looking for.

You could also contact HP and get the miniPCI bluetooth card that your laptop uses. I should be a simple matter to install it! http://partsurfer.hp.com

Edit: Partsurfer shows you would need part 407674-001, which is the "Mini PCI 802.11a/b/g GL embedded wireless LAN (WLAN) card with Bluetooth (Broadcom, Most-of-world 1)". It is $95, but would probably be worth having it integrated into your notebook.

i frequent car forums and thinkpad forums where there are usually "part outs" when you have a dead car or laptop that has working components that you wanna sell off.

if there is such a place on here, i would try looking in the for sale sub-forum as well for a cheaper but same unit!
