So i bought a 1TB external drive from a bestbuy in Atlanta this week.
It didn't work and I couldn't figure out why...
I flew home a couple days ago and kept it in my suitcase..
I went to plug it in to my laptop and it still wouldn't work.
So I decided Ill look at it in the light... It has holes for cooling on the bottom and top of the drive...
Well guess what I saw??? The two plugs going into the drive weren't connected..
So I very carefully opened the drive... Well when I opened the drive
guess what I found????
A cheap 40gb ata harddrive......
Oh snap... Someone opened the box and returned it to bestbuy and I just happen to get that one...
I closed it back up and went to the local bestbuy and returned it for a new
MyBook 1TB drive... I just told them it didn't work....
Unbelievable... Just becareful with what you buy... cause you might not get what you paid for...
Thought it was kind of funny though...

Someone was crafty thats for sure. I have heard this kind of thing happening with graphics cards aswell
-
I would kill someone for that.

luckily I was able to return it... they didn't notice...the slits where the person opened the warranty labels...
I just told them that it didn't work at all, not matter what I tried.. Just played stupid..
