So i looked at the T9600 for my Asus N80series, model N80vm. Minimum price i saw for the T9600 was at $500. Was wondering if my computer would run with the core 2 duo eXtreme. Also which one is better and if i could possibly shoot for a quad??? Money is not a problem just looking for the best bang for my buck. Love for your help, this website really rocks my socks.

If you're looking for most bang for your bucks, you should not look at CPU's that cost you that much really. Check out ebay for cheaper CPU's. A fast mobile core 2duo isn't worth more than 200$ imho.

Even if you don't have a problem with money, looking for the best bang for your bucks isn't going hand in hand :) As most bang for your buck is the cheapest/most affordable but still the best for that moneyrange hehe :)

And i think it should work with that CPU however, but it's really not worth $500. That's just waste of money :)

I think the best bang for the buck cpu for your system is the P8400. It is relatively cheap, around $200 and it has a lot of processing power.
Above the P8400, the processors continually lose their economic value. It is not a good idea to buy a $500 cpu now, because in a few months that cpu will be probably $150 less on ebay. Its better to just get a decent cpu now, and upgrade to a faster one later on.
