Hi. I was upgrading my keyboard, and opened my laptop up a bit to tighten a part of the chasis that wasn't closing properly. I was moving a cable that was pretty stiff, and completely chipped off a tab on the motherboard. The computer still works fine, but could there be any repercussions as a result of this?

I've attached an image of the tab.

    Thanks.

Eh? You've circled part of the case, that big blue thing is the motherboard.

The OP means he chipped off a part of the case not the motherboard lol.. everything should be fine although you may have broken a 'clipping' that will hold your laptop together firmly.

Oh, you guys are right. Was in a bit of a hurry at the time and didn't look close enough.

I'm just wondering what these clips are for, as it closed fine and nothing seems wrong. Perhaps it's for routing cables, as that would be fine.

I was also thinking of reattaching it at the time via something like superglue, but decided against it.
