Hey guys. The tip of a 3.5mm headphone jack has broken off from the jack and gotten stuck in the socket of my laptop. I can't plug anything else into there and can't seem to shake it out. Does anyone have any suggestions? Will Asus' accidental warranty cover this?
Thanks

Try some tiny tweezers - I don't think that's covered under accidental damage warranty - and if an exterior plug is stuck in the socket - I think you'd have to go to the headphone manufacturer.

I don't think tweezers would work. There's nothing for them to grip on. I really do hope this is covered under that warranty. If its not I guess i'll have to buy a expresscard sound module.
Thanks anyway. -
How about a little bit of superglue at the end of a toothpick?
N/B If you do actually try this, please be aware that the toothpick could possibly get stuck to the inside of the jack. -

Good idea. Just one thing though. If the superglue isn't strong enough, then try some epoxy, but BE CAREFUL with the stuff.

I'd go with a poster above, using a paper clip, but sharpening it first before the super glue

Thanks a lot for the advice guys. I used some superglue on a pin's head and managed to yank the offending bit of metal out.
Now to get another 3/4" to 3.5mm adapter.
Cheers.
