I have my 5750's arrow key(brightness up) slightly raised on one side, I suspect it's broken. For the time being it's OK, not using much but in the long run I'm not sure, it may fall down. Has anyone replaced it or found this easier to do it yourself.

Did you try to press the key down until hearing like a click sound?

If something is damaged it must be the clips that hold the key cap attached to the keyboard. You should try to remove the key cap with the help of a small flat screw driver. If the clips are damaged you can find replacement in ebay.

Note that you need to be patient to replace the clips or clip back a key that is dislodged. The process is a bit fiddly. It is easier and sometimes cheaper to replace the keyboard than to repair a damaged clip or a key cap.

As naton has stated, is the entire housing still present, you may still have a chance to get the key back in place. If it is missing, then honestly it would be cheaper getting a new keyboard (20-40 dollars).

Thanks for the quick response naton, I have attached a picture, I'll give a call to acer customer service and see what they can do for me.
I couldn't find any replacement keyboard or the buttons online, I am trying to avoid sending for the new keyboard replacement by acer.

I hope you don't fall off the chair looking at this:

I'll try to get the button and the clip from acer and would prefer to mend myself, otherwise I may have to send it for replacement by them and hope for the best. Thanks for your suggestions and help.

From the photo it looks that all you have to do is clip the key back.

Press on the right side of the key until you hear a 'click' sound and until the key cap sits flat. If this doesn't work remove the key cap and try to install it again.

As for the keyboard, Acer uses the same keyboard in various model. With a bit of research you could find the various Acer laptops that uses the same keyboard as yours :). Ebay and google are your friends in this situation :). Finding the different laptops can save you money too. Although it's the same keyboard the price would vary from one laptop to the next one.

Yes, it looks better after pressing the right side, but still there is a slight misalignment visible. Thanks.

You still don't have it on all the way. The keys I've seen have horizontal and vertical slots on the bottom of the key. The horizontal ones fit onto one leg of the scissor clips and vertical fits the other. If you can't get your key to snap on, try pulling it off and look at the bottom of it. You need to get the side with the horizontal slots clipped on first, then press down on the key so the vertical slots will clip on. To get the horizontal slots clipped on, lift the scissor clip and slide the key horizontally onto the corresponding leg of the scissor clip.

Note that the scissor clips are tiny and easily broken, so don't press too hard!

You are best off taking it off and replacing the key from the start.

Thanks Meaker, I have tried taking off but one side lifts off easily and the other side seems a bit stiff. I have attached some pictures, can you make anything out of them, could you please also tell me whether I should pull off applying a bit more force. Thanks.

Hey guys, Laptop-Keys.com can get you the little plastic retainer clip you need to fix that keyboard key. I think it's $3.79 for one of those.
