    Hello all,

I've had my Dell Inspiron 6400 notebook for about a year now, and I've experienced no real problems at all with it. However, my 'Z' key popped off a few days ago, and part of the plastic latch on the underside of it broke off, rendering the key useless. I'm wondering what I should do? Can I order a replacement key from Dell, or some other retailer??? I hope so; thankfully I don't use 'Z' too much as I type, but it's still very annoying.

P.S. In case you were wondering, I can still use 'Z', but I have to press the rubber sensor underneath, with no plastic key cover over top now....

    Thanks!

Yea, you can get 102 of them. :D Sorry! I don't know.

Edit: If you have a small local independent computer store talk to them. Mine has all kinds of parts one way they surrvive against the Big Boys, that and service.

Dell doesn't sell individual keys I think. You can find individual keys on ebay.

They don't make replacement 'keys' AFAIK...give Dell a call and see if they can send you a new keyboard. If not, get one from eBay...they're fairly cheap from there and anything from the e1405, e1505, e1501, e1705, M1710, etc should work.
