    Hi I have an acer laptop with a broken lcd. what I want to do is connect it to my monitor it will go on in safe mode but I can not open some things in this mode is ther a way round it

    You can just start windows normally. You do not have to boot into safe mode, to get the screen to display on the external monitor.
    If you start the pc normally, and then plug in the vga cable to the laptop, the computer will figure out that its an external monitor, and it will configure itself to post onto the external monitor.

    Hello G.L.A TRYER I have a same problem with my ACER laptop. Did you had any luck configuring external monitor with your laptop?
